Government Support for Childcare Costs
Families eligible for Universal Credit can receive substantial assistance with childcare expenses. Specifically, Universal Credit can reimburse up to 85% of registered childcare costs, including services such as breakfast clubs, after-school programs, and holiday clubs. This support is designed to make childcare more accessible and affordable for working parents.Understanding Universal CreditChildcare choices
As of April 2025, the maximum monthly reimbursement rates are:GOV.UK
- £1,031.88 for one child
- £1,768.94 for two or more childrenSwansea+8GOV.UK+8Childcare choices+8GOV.UK+7Childcare choices+7GOV.UK+7
To qualify, parents must be in paid employment or have a job offer starting within the next month. Childcare must be provided by a registered provider, such as those registered with Ofsted in England. Parents are typically required to pay for the childcare upfront and then report the costs through their Universal Credit account to receive reimbursement in their subsequent payment. For families facing challenges with upfront childcare payments, additional support may be available through the Flexible Support Fund. This fund can assist with initial childcare costs, enabling parents to commence or increase employment. Eligibility for this support should be discussed with a Universal Credit work coach. It's important to note that Universal Credit childcare support can be combined with other government childcare schemes, such as the 15 or 30 hours of free childcare, to further alleviate the financial burden on families. Childcare choices

Supporting Affordability Through Childcare Vouchers and Additional Discounts
NannyMe is committed to making high-quality childcare accessible and affordable for all families, particularly those on low incomes. To support this goal, we accept a range of government-supported childcare payment schemes, including Childcare Vouchers, Tax-Free Childcare, and Universal Credit childcare support, which can cover up to 85% of childcare costs for eligible families.
In addition to accepting these schemes, NannyMe offers supplementary discounts—such as sibling discounts, early-bird booking incentives, and subsidised rates for Peabody residents—to further ease the financial burden on families. These targeted measures are designed to help parents stay in work, reduce childcare-related stress, and promote long-term stability for both children and their caregivers.
By combining flexible pricing with accessible government support options, NannyMe ensures that no family is excluded from quality care due to cost.
